Prolongo-FACCSA wins ANICE José Flores Innovation Award

In the past week, it has been announced that Prolongo-FACCSA, a key partner in the RoBUTCHER project, has won the José Flores Innovation Award. The award is presented by ANICE (Asociación Nacional de Industrias de la Carne de España, or National Association of Meat Industries of Spain).

The jury said, when deciding the award that “For decades, the commitment to R&D&i Prolongo-FACCSA meat industrial complex has been clear. This has been the main factor that the Awards Jury has valued in granting this distinction to the company.”

They also went on to say “Factors such as food safety, productivity and quality of its products, reduction of production costs, optimisation of the use of raw materials and sustainable growth have been the pillars on which the efforts and investments in R&D have been based. This has culminated in one of its most current projects such as RoBUTCHER. Made up of leading industries from several European countries, RoBUTCHER will introduce state-of-the-art robots and AI technologies to improve competitiveness, food safety and sustainability in the pig slaughterhouse and cutting room sector.”
