On 10.03.2023, a delegation of around 40 high ranking members of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso (IFMT), Brazil, visited NMBU. The visitors included the rector, deans, professors, as well as congressmen.
The main goal of the event was to explore the opportunities for collaboration in both education and research topics. During the day, the group visited the RoBUTCHER laboratory, and while both Ole and Dexter were still on sabbatical in Germany, the group were entertained with a discussion relating to NMBU’s smart knife, as well as a demonstration from the teams’ latest researcher, Abhaya Singh, related to soft-object manipulation using robots.
Later, the group received a 15-minute overview of the RoBUTCHER project, as part of a selection of research topics incorporating robotics across NMBU. The event was organised Antonio Candea Leite, Associate Professor at NBMU’s Faculty for Science and Technology.
